We’re a small, family-owned business in Bellingham, Washington. We believe we can make a difference by helping people stay connected to the natural world through everyday life.
More and more, we’re disconnected from the natural world — and the natural world only survives if society values it. People protect what they value, and value what they know. That’s the bind: the disconnection and the need to care pull in opposite directions.
Not everyone can live immersed in natural wonders. But almost everyone gets a glimpse — some trip, some season, some stretch of a life — and that appreciation, once lit, needs to be kept alive. The hard part is keeping it alive inside a city and a daily grind.
Our answer is small: a moment of reflection, every day, in the one ritual nearly everyone keeps — bathing. We try to capture a remarkable place, plant, or experience in a bar of soap, with the hope it can be recalled at every use — a reminder, and a subject for contemplation and gratitude.
How we make it
Our soaps are made in small batches with great care, using a traditional cold-process method. We use 100% organic or wild-harvested ingredients. For anything not sourced directly from our own farm or wild collections, we choose producers who share our values — and prefer local partners.
What goes in
Every ingredient earns its place, and we can tell you what each one is and why it’s there. No synthetic fragrance, no filler, nothing added to make a bar look or smell like something it isn’t.
When a bar smells of lavender or star anise, it’s because the lavender or the star anise is in it. The point is to carry a real thing from a real place — so the contents have to be real, too.
We are not in the business of selling soap. We’re in the business of keeping a relationship with the natural world alive — soap is just the format, because it’s the appointment nobody skips.
