A dark-sky night · Far from city light

New Moon

The one night a month the sky keeps nothing back — no moon, just the depth behind the depth you usually see.

The subject

Far from city light, a new moon — by its very absence — leaves a darkness pure and peculiar, the kind where the vastness of the stars naturally captures your imagination. There's more sky than you remembered. The dark isn't empty; it's full, and it's been there the whole time, waiting for the glow to drop away.

In our New Moon soap, star anise shines through a darkness provided by activated carbon. Carbon forms the basis of all known life and is, quite literally, star dust — forged in stars and scattered across the sky you're looking at. The bar holds both: the black, and the small bright thing coming through it.

In the bar

Every ingredient earns its place. Nothing here is “fragrance.”

Activated carbon
The darkness itself — a deep charcoal-black bar that gently clarifies the skin. Carbon: the basis of all known life, and literally star dust.
Star anise
The single point of light coming through the dark — warm, faintly sweet, unmistakably a star.
Base oils
Cold-processed olive, coconut, and palm, blended for a smooth, generous lather that lasts.
Shea & avocado
Shea butter and avocado oil to moisturize and protect — the dark bar leaves skin soft, not stripped.

In the box

Every New Moon box carries the next few new-moon dates and a note on finding a dark-sky spot near you — so the bar is a small reminder to actually go out and look up.
